DYNAMIC CABLING SYSTEM

The presence of a dynamic cabling system in the tree crown serves to ensure that a heavy frame branch with deviations in the lower parts does not break off due to its own weight and/or external factors such as wind, snow and others. It serves to secure the space under and around the tree, for people, other organisms and infrastructure, and helps to preserve the tree as long as possible despite the deviation(s).
However, this dynamic system must not be under tension and must still allow the tree and branch to move, because otherwise the tree will no longer strengthen itself. It is important that the tree itself get stimulated to produce reaction wood at the deviation to strenghten itself, with the dynamic cabling system only as protection against external and extreme factors.

STATIC CABLING/BRACING SYSTEM

A static cabling or bracing system serves to immobilize tree parts using static materials such as steel rods and steel cables that are necessary due to mechanical deviations in the tree such as distinct cracks, cavities etc. This is a major intervention in the function of a tree and can only be used if the tree is so weakened in the structure that failure becomes a likely consequence.
In this way, a tree with severe mechanical deviations can be preserved in a safe and controlled way.
